Baseball Game Preview: Barrington Eagles vs. Narragansett Mariners

The Barrington Eagles will take on the Narragansett Mariners at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Barrington's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Narragansett has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Barrington was handed a 16-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Mt. Hope 8-6. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Narragansett came up short against East Greenwich on Thursday and fell 5-2. That's two games in a row now that the Mariners have lost by exactly three runs.

Narragansett saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Hohl, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Hohl has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Barrington's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Narragansett, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Barrington beat Narragansett 5-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mariners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
