Baseball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burleson Elks. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Elks earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Lamar saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Thomson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 8-17-1. As for Burleson, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-3.

Coming up, Lamar will take on Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burleson, they are taking a road trip to take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
