Recap: Vanguard Classical East Hawks vs. Twin Peaks Charter Academy Timberwolves
Sadly, the Vanguard Classical East Hawks are still looking for their first win of the season after five contests. They were beaten by Twin Peaks Charter Academy 77-30 on Wednesday. Vanguard Classical East was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-15.
Twin Peaks Charter Academy was led to victory by Jaiden Specht and Matthew Wurth. Specht dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Wurth dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wurth has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Mueller, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Vanguard Classical East dropped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Twin Peaks Charter Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-9.
Vanguard Classical East will head out on the road to face off against Poudre Community Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Twin Peaks Charter Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Weldon Valley at 6:30 p.m. Twin Peaks Charter Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
