Basketball Recap: Central Academy Cougars vs. Monroe Redhawks
Central Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 42nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Monroe Redhawks and fell 82-22. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 590th, while the Redhawks are ranked 201st).
Justice Hegwood was Central Academy's leading scorer, having posted 13 points. Caroline Vassil took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
