Basketball Game Preview: Lake Hamilton Wolves vs. Marion Patriots

The Lake Hamilton Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Marion Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lake Hamilton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Tuesday, Lake Hamilton earned a 68-55 win over Pine Bluff. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Zebras are ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Marion got the win against Westside on Saturday by a conclusive 61-40. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Marion has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.6 points. As for Lake Hamilton, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Lake Hamilton came out on top in a nail-biter against Marion in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 49-46. Will Lake Hamilton repeat their success, or does Marion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
