After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elm Creek, St. Patrick was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Irish as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
St. Patrick's wouldn't go down easily and took Gordon-Rushville into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 16-25, 15-7.
St. Patrick's was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matchups.
