Basketball Recap: Tallwood Comes Up Short

Tallwood lost against Western Branch back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tallwood Lions took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Western Branch Bruins. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Western Branch can attribute much of their success to Tayshawn Trotman, who posted 20 points. Trotman is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Zyon Barnes was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Tallwood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Western Branch, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

Tallwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-41 loss against Manor on the 3rd. As for Western Branch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 88-47 win against Hickory on the 4th.
