Football Game Preview: Mathis Pirates vs. London Pirates + How To Watch

Mathis is 0-3 against London since November of 2022 but things could change on Friday. Mathis is taking a road trip to face off against London at 7:00 p.m. Mathis has given up an average of 29 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mathis lost 41-21 to Goliad on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 893rd, while the Tigers are ranked 386th).

Meanwhile, London didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Aransas Pass on Friday, but they still walked away with a 33-29 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

London's win came from a few key players Mathis will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alex Manning, who threw for 354 yards and three TDs while completing 81.5% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Maddox Jennings was Manning's top target, picking up 150 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Mathis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for London, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Mathis suffered a grim 41-16 defeat to London in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can Mathis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
