Basketball Recap: Mount St. Mary Takes a Loss

After flying high against Marshall last Saturday, Mount St. Mary came back down to earth. The Mount St. Mary Rockets had to suffer through a 73-31 loss at the hands of the Harrah Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-39 back in December of 2024.

Maggie Vinson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten boards for Harrah. Those 26 points gave Vinson a new career-high. Sayler Eaton was another key player, going 7 of 11 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Mount St. Mary has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Harrah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3.

Mount St. Mary has already played their next contest, a 60-32 victory against Harding Fine Arts on the 31st. As for Harrah, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-25 win against Jones on the 31st.
