Baseball Recap: Lafayette Jefferson Has No Trouble Against Muncie Central

While Lafayette Jefferson put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Muncie Central. The Bronchos were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bearcats. The Bronchos haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Talan Meyers's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Alonzo Clawson-Smith and Ben Pickering did most of the damage at the plate: Clawson-Smith went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Pickering went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Clawson-Smith has hit this season. Nate Hilsabeck was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Lafayette Jefferson's record now sits at 7-3. As for Muncie Central, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Lafayette Jefferson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
