Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the North Eugene Highlanders, falling 21-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Millers of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Springfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one run. That run marked the first that Cook has scored this season.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for North Eugene, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-6-1.

While Springfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
