Volleyball Recap: Academy for Innovative Education Comes Up Short

Academy for Innovative Education lost against Miami Springs back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Aviators lost 3-0 to the Golden Hawks. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Academy for Innovative Education was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Miami Springs work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 28-26, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miami Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yara Rojas, who had 12 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Rojas a new career-high. Yaneshka Soto was another key player, getting 12 digs, five aces, and one block.

Academy for Innovative Education's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Miami Springs, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Academy for Innovative Education wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Colonial Christian on the 19th. As for Miami Springs, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against iMater Charter on the 22nd.
