Soccer Game Preview: Gardendale vs. Pelham

The Gardendale Rockets are taking a road trip to square off against the Pelham Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gardendale knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Pelham likes a good challenge.

Gardendale's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Woodlawn. It was an even better day for Tindel Holsomback as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Pelham was a bit more limited in their game last Thursday. They came up short against Chelsea, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Pelham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Chelsea are ranked 12th).

Gardendale has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five matches. Pelham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-2.
