Tularosa is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will head out to take on the Hatch Valley Bears at 7:00 p.m. Tularosa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Tularosa made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mesilla Valley Christian School, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Tularosa put the hurt on Mesilla Valley Christian School with a sharp 17-3 victory on Saturday. The Wildcats not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Cameron Holguin, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Austin Perea also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Hatch Valley came up short against Santa Fe Indian on Saturday and fell 5-1. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hatch Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was FRANKLIN WILLIAMS, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Hatch Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Tularosa, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tularosa has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hatch Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Tularosa's way against Hatch Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Tularosa made off with a 14-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tularosa since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
