Football Game Preview: Tonopah Muckers vs. Pahranagat Valley Panthers + How To Watch

Tonopah hasn't had much luck against Pahranagat Valley recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Muckers will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tonopah is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Carlin to the tune of 59-6. The victory was just business as usual for the Muckers, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.

Dustin Otteson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 324 yards and five TDs while picking up 19.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 27 yards and one touchdown. Otteson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 116 every time he's taken the field this season. Adelaido Salgado was another key back, gaining 86 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tonopah was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 441 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 269 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Pahranagat Valley faced Mineral County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Serpents with a sharp 60-34 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Serpents recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Tonopah better focus on containing Braxten Tsosie and Jesse Stewart as the pair were huge in Pahranagat Valley's win. Tsosie rushed for 160 yards and three scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, while Stewart rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Trevor Thiriot, who gained 89 total yards.

Tonopah's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Pahranagat Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
