Basketball Recap: Dixie Takes a Loss

Dixie played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 69-37 loss at the hands of the Abbeville Panthers. The Hornets were down 54-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Abbeville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Baylor, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Baylor a new career-high in points. Jaden Baylor was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Abbeville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Dixie will welcome Ware Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ware Shoals has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Abbeville, they will venture away from home to square off against Calhoun Falls Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun Falls Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Abbeville likes a good challenge.
