Preview: Jackson Generals vs. Booker T. Washington Tornadoes
Jackson is 1-8 against Booker T. Washington since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jackson Generals will be playing at home against the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Jackson's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Jackson has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 29 points or more this season. They blew past JC Bermudez Doral 72-43 at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordany Fils-Aime, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The game was Fils-Aime's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonard Clark, who scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington was the victim of a rough 59-38 loss at the hands of Northwestern on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Booker T. Washington has scored all season.
Jackson's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2. As for Booker T. Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Jackson came up short against Booker T. Washington in their previous matchup back in January, falling 63-55. Can Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
