 Highland scored the most  goals they've had all season to find success  on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Mt. Vernon Rams as the Highland Bulldogs made off with  a  7-2 win. With that  victory, Highland brought their scoring average up to 2.8  goals per game.
 Their offense was hitting Mt. Vernon from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. 
 Peyton Beard led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.
 Highland's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Mt. Vernon, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will  face off against Civic Memorial at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will head out on the road to  challenge  DuQuoin at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. DuQuoin's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
