Baseball Recap: Elbert Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Park on Monday, Elbert came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 19-9 to the Florence Huskies on Wednesday.

Jeremiah Lachausse made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Elbert has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Florence, their record is now 5-10.

Coming up, Elbert will face off against Cheyenne Wells at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Florence, they will challenge Cripple Creek-Victor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
