Baseball Game Preview: Valley Heights Mustangs vs. Centralia Panthers

Valley Heights fell victim to Onaga and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Buffaloes. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centralia). They put the hurt on Blue Valley with a sharp 16-1 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Centralia pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Valley Heights, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-7.
