League recap: Philadelphia Electric Charter rises, Swenson Arts & Tech falls in league standings

Philadelphia Public B league recap: 5/7/12

Philadelphia Electric Charter made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from eighth to sixth place in the league thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Swenson Arts & Tech fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fifth all the way to seventh place after going 0-1 in the past week. Northeast (8-1, 8-1) is the No. 1 team in Philadelphia Public B.

The league's longest active winning streak belongs to Olney (7-2), undefeated over its last five games. The streak was extended by another game over the past week, includinga 12-4 victory over Boys' Latin Charter.

Samuel Fels's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 17 hits and 17 walks to lead the league in both categories. Samuel Fels's pitchers have been charged with only 29 hits and have struck out 100 batters. Eliantonio Martinez is tops on the staff with 53 Ks.
