Volleyball Preview: Sierra Chieftains vs. Minarets Mustangs

Sierra and Minarets are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Sierra Chieftains will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Minarets Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Minarets took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Sierra, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Sierra got the win against Torres by a conclusive 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-11, 25-21.

Gwyn Gilbert was a one-man wrecking crew for Sierra as she had 12 digs and six aces. That's the most aces Gilbert has posted since last Thursday.

Meanwhile, Minarets came up short against Monache on Friday and fell 2-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Marauders recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Minarets was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 17 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17.

Sierra pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Minarets, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
