Baseball Game Preview: Hopewell Vikings vs. Blackhawk Cougars

Hopewell hasn't had much luck against Blackhawk recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hopewell lost 13-5 to Central Valley on Tuesday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Blackhawk came up short against West Allegheny on Thursday, falling 12-4. The Cougars have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Logan Elich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Hopewell's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Blackhawk, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Hopewell was able to grind out a solid victory over Blackhawk in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
