Basketball Recap: West Essex Wins Going Away Against Payne Tech

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Orange, West Essex was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 54-32 margin over the Payne Tech Lions. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

West Essex now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Payne Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 5-4.

West Essex and Payne Tech should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. West Essex will face off against Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday up 222 places (120 vs. 342). Similarly, Payne Tech (ranked 97th) will meet Linden (ranked 275th) at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
