Baseball Recap: Westfall Comes Up Short

Westfall was the 4-0 winner over Paint Valley when they last played one another on April 9th, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 7-6 on Monday.

Brenden Tuttle was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. AJ Pluta was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Westfall's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Paint Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfall will take on Piketon at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Paint Valley, they will square off against Unioto at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Shermans have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
