Football Game Preview: Waldron Mohawks vs. Tri-State Crusaders King's Crusaders

The Waldron Mohawks will face off against the Tri-State Crusaders King's Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are still undefeated (Waldron has four wins , while Tri-State Crusaders has seven dating back to last season).

Waldron's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They really took it to Morristown for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-0 victory. The matchup marked the Mohawks' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Tri-State Crusaders put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Saturday. They blew past Varsity Opponent 54-0. The King's Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 38 points or more this season.

Tri-State Crusaders found their leader in sophomore Rylan Kolb, who rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those 165 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Kolb. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Black, who punched in two rushing scores.

Tri-State Crusaders was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 214 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Tri-State Crusaders didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Donovan Sproul and Layton Kolb. Izayah Castro was another major factor on D, picking up 2.5 sacks and making four total tackles.

Waldron's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Tri-State Crusaders, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Waldron was dealt a bruising 34-6 loss at the hands of Tri-State Crusaders in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kolb, who rushed for 138 yards and one TD while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and one score. Now that the Mohawks know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
