Baseball Recap: Bishop Heelan Catholic Falls Short Against Ranked Northwest

Bishop Heelan Catholic faced Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Crusaders lost 17-5 to the Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crusaders have suffered since June 7th.

Bishop Heelan Catholic's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5. As for Northwest, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Coming up, Bishop Heelan Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Sioux City West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.62 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northwest, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-2 win against Sergeant Bluff-Luton on the 21st.
