Baseball Recap: College Park Comes Up Short

College Park couldn't beat Clayton Valley Charter on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Falcons fell just short of the Ugly Eagles by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by just one run.

Sebastian Alvarez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, TJ Reinhart and Vincent 'Tino' Vasell did some serious damage despite the final result: Reinhart went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run, while Vasell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Reinhart has snagged this season.

College Park's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-8. As for Clayton Valley Charter, their record now sits at 14-3.

While College Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
