Baseball Recap: Everett Alvarez Extends Winning Streak to Two

Everett Alvarez won against North Monterey County last Friday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles beat the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Everett Alvarez's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ivan Chavez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Everett Alvarez and bumps their season record up to 10-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Monte Vista Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5.

Looking ahead, Everett Alvarez will host San Lorenzo Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monte Vista Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' game: after the Eagles face off against the Cougars, they'll take on Monte Vista Christian again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
