Baseball Game Preview: Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers vs. Batavia Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Wheaton-Warrenville South will face off against Batavia. The Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Wheaton-Warrenville South took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Batavia a 5-0 shutout. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Drew Eger's shutout, as he gave up just eight hits.

At the plate, Jacob Conover was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Yiannis Bozonelos also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

With the defeat, Batavia broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-17-1. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their victory bumped their record up to 13-15.
