Softball Recap: Martin Luther Drops Highest Score of Season Against Portledge

Martin Luther barely beat Portledge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 28-13 victory on Monday. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Isabella Pinal was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases and four runs. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Moranda Moore was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

Martin Luther kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Martin Luther's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. As for Portledge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
