Softball Preview: Deuel Cardinals vs. Colman-Egan C-E Hawks        
        
		
            
 The Deuel Cardinals will play host again  on Friday to welcome the Colman-Egan C-E Hawks, where first pitch is scheduled  at 4:00  p.m. Deuel will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last.
 Deuel can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent  matchup  on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Sisseton  a   15-0 shutout. While fans of Deuel might be used to big wins, the 15-run margin marked the team's biggest one yet.
  Katrina Hagberg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Hagberg has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season. Hagberg was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Deuel let  Kennedy Harmon and  Zadie Johnson loose on the outfield. Harmon  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while  Johnson  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. Harmon is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Rylynn Streich, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Colman-Egan lost  12-2 to Viborg/Hurley on Monday. Colman-Egan has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Kinzley Shafer was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases.
 Deuel's win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 9-3. As for Colman-Egan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Deuel has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.2  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Colman-Egan struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 4. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Everything went Deuel's way against Colman-Egan when the teams last played  back in May of 2023 as Deuel made off with  a  15-4 victory. Will Deuel repeat their success,  or does  Colman-Egan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
