Volleyball Recap: Cromwell Wins Going Away Against Haddam-Killingworth

It was a proper cat-fight when Cromwell faced off against Haddam-Killingworth on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. The Panthers were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Cougars, so the Panthers were just returning the favor.

Cromwell not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Haddam-Killingworth between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-20.

Cromwell can attribute much of their success to Piper Kovacs, who had 25 assists. Those 25 assists gave Kovacs a new career-high.

Cromwell was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 15 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Cromwell now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Cromwell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Morgan on the 10th. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against North Branford on the 10th.
