Volleyball Recap: Minneapolis Lions vs. Nemaha Central Thunder

Minneapolis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nemaha Central Thunder. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Thunder when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Minneapolis ultimately came up short, they really made Nemaha Central work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 28-26, 25-19.

Baylee Randall-Hurt paced Minneapolis' offense, picking up 12 kills. Randall-Hurt got some help from Addison Abell and her 33 assists.

Minneapolis' loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Nemaha Central, their victory bumped their record up to 15-13.

Coincidentally, Minneapolis and Nemaha Central will both be playing Smith Center the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Redmen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Thunder will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
