Basketball Recap: New Auburn Continues Road Dominance on Friday

New Auburn waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lake Holcombe Chieftains 62-20. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Chieftains are ranked 436th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Auburn pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points over those games. As for Lake Holcombe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, New Auburn will square off against Birchwood at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Holcombe, they will challenge Flambeau at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
