Softball Recap: Baboquivari Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Baboquivari finally came back down to earth on Monday. They came up short against the St. David Tigers, falling 28-0. The shutout was out of character for the Warriors seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Baboquivari has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for St. David, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baboquivari will head out to take on Fort Thomas at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Apaches at the right time seeing as the Apaches are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for St. David, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley Union at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.25 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
