Football Game Preview: Deer Trail vs. Hanover

Deer Trail have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will look to defend their home turf on Saturday against Hanover at 1:00 PM. Deer Trail are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.

Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Deer Trail and Edison were playing football. Deer Trail had enough points to win and then some against Edison two weeks ago, taking their game 67-50. No one put up better numbers for Deer Trail than junior Walker Morelock, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns. Morelock has been a consistent playmaker for Deer Trail as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up at halftime, but Hanover weren't quite Edison's equal in the second half when they met last Friday. Hanover lost to Edison by a decisive 14-33 margin. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Hanover.

Deer Trail's win lifted them to 2-2 while Hanover's loss dropped them down to 2-3. We'll see if Deer Trail's success rolls on or if Hanover are able to steal their positive momentum.
