Basketball Game Preview: Red Mountain Mountain Lions vs. Mountain View Toros

Red Mountain and Mountain View are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain View Toros at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Red Mountain took their matchup with ease, bagging a 53-14 win over Skyline. Given the Mountain Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Coyotes are ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mountain View had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They breezed by the Warriors to the tune of 68-34.

Mountain View has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Red Mountain, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Red Mountain didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mountain View when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Mountain since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
