Basketball Game Preview: Whetstone Braves vs. Linden-McKinley Panthers

Whetstone hasn't had much luck against Linden-McKinley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Whetstone Braves will square off against the Linden-McKinley Panthers at 7:00 p.m.

Whetstone is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were outmatched by Northland and fell 80-34. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 759th, while the Vikings are ranked 200th).

Meanwhile, Linden-McKinley posted their biggest win since December 13, 2024 on Monday. They breezed by Columbus International to the tune of 62-23.

Linden-McKinley has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Whetstone, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Whetstone came up short against Linden-McKinley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 58-51. Can Whetstone avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
