Baseball Recap: Reading Memorial Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Reading Memorial not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 17, 2025 (when they won 12-1). They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Lexington Minutemen. The Rockets' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Reading Memorial gave Cooper Dean the start and clearly made the right call: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Chase Williams relieved him and did a solid job, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Isaac Robinson and Kamden Greatorex did most of the damage at the plate: Robinson went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Greatorex went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. Those three runs gave Greatorex a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Merkle, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Reading Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lexington, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reading Memorial will venture away from home to face off against Stoneham at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lexington, they will head out to take on Wilmington at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
