Jayden Ortiz Delivers Best Performance of Season

Jayden Ortiz produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Wheeler to the win on Friday. Ortiz rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.1 rushing touchdowns per game. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.

If the past is any indication, Ortiz could be in store for another big game when he takes on Whiting on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Ortiz saw the Oilers), he rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.

Wheeler was led to victory by Dylan Knezevich, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Knezevich wasn't messing around, picking up 1.5 sacks and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss). The matchup was his third straight with five or more total tackles.

For the year, Knezevich has averaged 5.4 total tackles per game and for the season has 3 sacks.
