Baseball Game Preview: Omaha North Vikings vs. Mount Michael Benedictine Knights

The Omaha North Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Things were looking good for Omaha North after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 18-7 to Lincoln Southeast. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Omaha North saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Bolouvi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The Vikings are 3-1 when Bolouvi posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Baker O'Neill was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Mount Michael Benedictine waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on Platte Valley with a sharp 7-1 win.

Kyle Oldehoeft spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, Mount Michael Benedictine let Dominic Beninato and Barett Sykora run wild. Beninato went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Sykora went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Sykora has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nathan Bluvas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Mount Michael Benedictine's record now sits at 8-10. As for Omaha North, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
