Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. Evergreen Plainsmen

Mountain View and Evergreen are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Mountain View Thunder will be playing at home against the Evergreen Plainsmen at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Mountain View had just enough and edged Kelso out 62-59. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Hilanders are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Evergreen lost to Heritage on the road by a 76-60 margin on Friday. The Plainsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mountain View's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Everything went Mountain View's way against Evergreen in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Mountain View made off with a 63-39 win. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Evergreen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
