Softball Game Preview: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Pine View Panthers

For the second straight game, Crimson Cliffs will face off against Pine View. The Mustangs will head out to challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crimson Cliffs has four straight wins, Pine View has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Crimson Cliffs and Pine View, and Crimson Cliffs kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday.

Ashlyn Wilding was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Tuckfield, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Crimson Cliffs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.

Pine View's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Crimson Cliffs, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
