Volleyball Recap: North Buncombe Comes Up Short

North Buncombe was the 3-1 winner over Mitchell when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Black Hawks fell 3-1 to the Mountaineers on Monday. The Black Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Buncombe was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mitchell work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 27-25, 15-25, 25-12.

North Buncombe's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mitchell, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

North Buncombe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Mountain Heritage on the 26th. As for Mitchell, they will face off against Hendersonville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
