Baseball Recap: Air Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Air Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lutheran Lions, sneaking past 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Kadets as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Air Academy got a great performance from Ford Farrell as he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Farrell a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Air Academy let Logan Sullivan and Sam Steubing run wild. Sullivan went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Steubing went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Air Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1. As for Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Air Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lutheran: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
