Baseball Recap: Oakridge Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Oakridge and Greenhill, and Greenhill kept the tradition alive. The Owls fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Owls have lost by exactly two runs.

Oakridge got a good showing from Ryder Windham, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Windham also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Owls are 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Oakridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piero Figueroa, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Oakridge's loss dropped their record down to 13-11-1. As for Greenhill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-13.
