Basketball Game Preview: Poston Butte Broncos vs. Cactus Cobras + Official Tickets

The Poston Butte Broncos will venture away from home to face off against the Cactus Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poston Butte has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Cactus will come in with three straight victories.

On Thursday, Poston Butte had to suffer through an 82-53 loss at the hands of Mica Mountain. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Thunderbolts are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, Cactus earned a 59-48 win over Bradshaw Mountain on Thursday.

Poston Butte better keep an eye on Dominic Duran. He was instrumental in Cactus' win, going 9-for-21 en route to 22 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Duran a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Browen, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Poston Butte's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Cactus, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Poston Butte didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cactus when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 61-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
