Softball Recap: Woodlands Academy Takes a Loss

Woodlands Academy had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-7 to make it five. They lost 16-0 to the Walther Christian Academy Broncos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

As for Walther Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

For Walther Christian Academy's part, Autumn Balock was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave Balock a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kariyah Perez, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Woodlands Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Walther Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-2 loss against St. Edward on the 20th.
