Recap: Waxahachie Indians vs. Montgomery Aztecs

On Wednesday, Waxahachie came up short against Montgomery and fell 49-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Waxahachie has scored all season.

Waxahachie's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isayah Pankey, who scored 11 points. Pankey continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Jefferson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Waxahachie were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montgomery only racked up five assists.

Montgomery's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jj Sanchez, who scored 14 points. The contest was Sanchez's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Xair Mendez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.

Waxahachie's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Montgomery, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
